This Privacy Policy explains how the 10,000 hours team("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use 10,000 hours at 10000htheory.com(the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication details needed to secure your account.
Profile information. Information you add to your profile, such as your display name, username, bio, location, website, social handles, the character/avatar you design, and any portrait image you generate or upload.
Practice data. The practice sessions you log — including links you paste (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Twitch), the video title, thumbnail, and duration we read from those links, timelapse settings, the skills you tag, and the hours that result.
Technical information. Basic information your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and cookies used to keep you signed in. We do not use cookies for advertising.
We use your information to operate and provide the Service — creating your account and public profile, calculating your hours and progress, powering rankings and friends, keeping the Service secure, and responding to your requests. We may use aggregated, de-identified data to understand and improve the Service.
10,000 hours is built around sharing progress. If your profile is set to public, the information on it — your display name, username, avatar, titles, skills, total hours, and the practice links you have logged — can be viewed by anyone with your profile link, including people who are not signed in, and may appear in public rankings. Do not add anything to your profile that you would not want to be public. You can control visibility in your settings.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit most of your data directly in the app, or contact us at ethannguyenbuild@gmail.com to make a request. You can withdraw consent or close your account at any time.
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Our providers may process and store your information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the app.
